Hazop Study Management
Course Description
HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) study is one of the most widely used hazard identification methods in the world and is utilized across many different industries. Countless potential risks and problems can be identified by using the systematic and structured approach of HAZOP.
A successful HAZOP study is only possible if the study is led effectively. Without good leadership, studies ‘drift’ and become, at best, design reviews; or, at worst, contractual arguments. This GiRD course will provide participants with an understanding of the HAZOP methodology and why it works, as well as key skills to take on the role of a HAZOP Team Leader.
Participants will learn how to function as a HAZOP study Leader including: preparing and selecting a team, choosing nodes, estimating timescales for completion, avoiding common problems, and formulating reports.
Target Audience
This GiRD course is suitable for personnel who are required to lead HAZOP studies in any industry. Participants must have experience as a team member and understand the HAZOP methodology (the methodology will be reviewed from the leader’s perspective)
